Social Awareness A boy at Miracle Ranch develops an understanding --- names --- for the injustices of his world. He is encouraged to develop an interest in his community and social milieu, to develop a sense of freedom and responsibility for his actions, to see himself as something special and unique within the world and to know of his value in it. These are remarkable gifts to children who may well have known only a dark side of their society. The children who are taught at Miracle Ranch of independence, self-respect and acceptance of one another have often come from the far different lessons of greed, abuse and street life. |
